Lifeguard 1970s

The lifeguard is posing in the framework of the diving boards which used to stand at the deep end of the pool. In the background, the old-style café is visible and, to its left, the basket room where swimmers left their clothes in a basket. Numbered wristbands were issued so that swimming time could be limited. A wall runs along the line of the back wall of the café. This was demolished during the 1999 refurbishment.
