Pity the Winter Swimmers!

Unidentified newspaper, 16/03/1934 Article by South London Swimming Club press officer Charles Roskilly (CSR) lamenting the amount of work taking place at the bathing-lake. He complains that it had been turned into 'a miniature battlefield' for the third year in a row. The works were part of a major refurbishment, including the building of the filtration plant, fountain and additional cubicles. There was more to come: the cafe was built in 1936.
