Poem : The Swimmer’s Warning

This poem - believed to have been written by Charles Roskilly, whose initials appear at the bottom - was an expression of the frustration felt by many of the South London Swimming Club men at the new rules that accompanied the introduction of mixed bathing in 1932. The men were now expected to change in the new cubicles and to wear proper trunks!
