Swimming Gala 1/2

Balham & Tooting Mercury, 07/10/1932 The South London Swimming Club's inflatable dragon, 'Julius Caesar', was used as a prop in swimming galas. A select band of club members would perform a series of daredevil stunts - as described in Swimming Gala 2/2. The galas were generally held in aid of local charities.
