Children Playing in Empty Pool

Tooting Bec Lido contains 1 million gallons of freshwater. It is only rarely drained - it takes about a week to empty it. This snapshot was taken c.1995 when repairs were being carried out to the tank. Health & Safety legislation today would not allow children to use the pool as a playground!
