Planned Refurbishment 2/2

In the mid-1990s plans were drawn up by Michael Phillips Associates for a major refurbishment of the lido to be funded Sports Lottery money. The entrance was to have been replaced by a water sports pavilion - illustrated here - with a new entrance at the shallow end of the pool. A children's pool and play area were also to have been added. The bid was not in the end submitted. But in 1999 a new entrance was built at the shallow end of the pool and a toddlers' pool was installed behind the café; in 2016 a more modest pavilion replaced the old entrance. The latter was jointly funded by Sport England, Wandsworth Council and the South London Swimming Club.
