Swallow Dive

Frederick Judge executes a graceful swallow dive off the boards at Tooting Bathing Lake. It's thought this may have been the occasion in 1915 when he won the Huntley Cup, though it's not certain. The two men standing nearest the camera could be judges. Notice the rowing-boat moored in the far corner ready for emergencies. It is clearly marked "LCC" - London County Council, who then owned the site. The diving-boards were dismantled in the 1970s due to Health & Safety considerations.
