The Great Escape 2000

Sunday Telegraph Magazine, 16/04/2000. The cover of a supplement on day-trips 90 minutes from central London. The painting, by Louise Weir, gives a generally accurate picture of the lido with cubicle doors on the eastern side of the site, the pump-room and old entrance at the far end. But there is no railway line crossing the entrance; it runs behind the trees on the left. There is no mention of the lido in the supplement itself!
