William Laws: Royal Humane Society

Royal Humane Society casebook entry for 23 September 1930. Case No 50471 records how William Laws, Captain of the South London Swimming Club, saved Mrs E Cinnatti from drowning in the Thames at Sonning on 6 July 1930. Another man had already failed to save her but then Laws swam 70 yards to bring her to shore. She had suffered a heart attack. Laws was nominated for an award by fellow SLSC member, Charles Roskilly, and received a Vellum Certificate. The original RHS casebooks are held by the London Metropolitan Archives.
