Inquest into the death of 5-year old John Waddell who died at the pool after falling into an outlet pipe while playing in the fountain. The London County Council, which then owned the pool, accepted full responsibility as there were no signs warning of the potential danger. The coroner recorded a verdict of accidental death. John’s parents were paid £275 in compensation. Railings were later installed around the fountain. See also Wandsworth Borough News, 26/07/1946.
