In the mid-1990s plans were drawn up by Michael Phillips Associates for a major refurbishment of the lido to be funded Sports Lottery money. The entrance was to have been replaced by a water sports pavilion with a new entrance at the shallow end of the pool. The area behind the café was to have been opened up for a children’s paddling-pool and play area. The bid was not in the end submitted. But in 1999 a new entrance was built at the shallow end of the pool and a toddlers’ pool was installed in the extended area behind the café. In 2016 a more modest pavilion replaced the old entrance. The latter was jointly funded by Sport England, Wandsworth Council and the South London Swimming Club.
