Balham & Tooting Mercury, January 1933
Twenty-two swimmers took part in the 1932 Christmas Day race. It was won by H. Cowsill, with A. E. Blay in second place and C. Davis in third. Blay is reported to have lost out by a fifth of a second in his 24th attempt to win the race!
