Diving Boards

The diving boards were a popular feature of the lido until they were dismantled in the 1970s for Health & Safety reasons. The figure on the right-hand side, wearing uniform, is the lifeguard Alfred French. Notice also the rowing-boat on the left-hand side, ready for use in rescues.
